ACRYLIC COPOLYMER FOR TOOTH SURFACE TREATMENT AND ITS USE

PURPOSE:To provide the title copolymer which comprises the units from an alkyl (meth)metacrylate and the units from styrenesulfonic acid derivative at a specific ratio and is excellent in adhesion to the teeth and teeth-repairing compositions as a surface-treating agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer comprises (A) the recurring units derived from an alkyl (meth)acrylate (preferably methyl methacrylate) and (B) the recurring units derived from a styrenesulfonic acid derivative (preferably p-styrenesulfonic acid) at an A:B 85/15 to 99/1 molar ratio preferably at A:B 86/14 to 95/5 molar ratio. When it is utilized as a teeth-surface-treating agent, the copolymer is preferably dissolved in water or a water-alcohol mixed solvent so that the concentration is adjusted to 0.7 to 12wt.%.
