发明名称 METHOD FOR DEFLECTING GUIDED LIGHT AND OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the optical waveguide device which can correct the deviation in optical paths. CONSTITUTION:This optical waveguide device has at least a waveguide layer 5 for guiding the incident light from a prism coupler 11, first condenser mirrors 15a, 15b provided with this waveguide layer 5, second condenser mirrors 17a, 17b and divided type PDs 19a, 19b, 19c, 19d provided on the optical path of the above-mentioned waveguide layer 5. The optical waveguide device is provided with thin-film electrodes 21a, 21b which can impress currents to a clad layer 7 on the waveguide layer 5. The currents are passed in the thin-film electrodes 21a, 21b to generate a refractive index distribution in the waveguide layer 5 even if the deviation in the optical paths is generated in the guided light within the waveguide layer 5 according to the production error of the optical waveguide by providing these thin-film electrodes 21a, 21b. The deviation in the optical paths is thus corrected by such refractive index distribution.
