SUBSTRATE FOR OPTICAL DISK AND ITS PRODUCTION

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain high C/N by forming a flattening layer for filling recesses due to a guide formed on a substrate and attaining surface flattening and by making the refractive index of the flattening layer higher than that of the material of the guide forming part of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A rugged guide for a tracking servomechanism with laser light is formed next to a region for data on the surface of a substrate 1 for an optical disk. The material of the guide forming part of the substrate 1 is an org. resin. A flattening layer 2 for filling recesses due to the guide and attaining surface flattening is formed on the guide and the refractive index of the flattening layer 2 is made higher than that of the material of the guide forming part of the substrate 1. Higher C/N than the conventional value can be obtd. while ensuring a stable tracking servomechanism.
