PURPOSE:To efficiently perform the translating work by providing an input means, a management table of bilingual and an example retrieval means. CONSTITUTION:First, a user inputs an original sentence from an input means 1. At this time, a translation control part 10 writes the inputted original sentence in a management table of bilingual 2 and displays the original sentence on a display means 9 and waits for selection of the translation or example retrieval function. When the user indicates example retrieval from the input means because remembering that similar original sentences were translated in the past, a window to obtain a word or the like as the key of retrieval is opened on the display means 9 by the translation control part 10, and the user inputs a word string to this window from the input means 1. An example retrieval means 6 refers to the management table of bilingual 2 to store pairs of pertinent original and translated sentences in an example candidate storage part 7 with the word string as the key. The translation control part 10 refers to contents of this storage part 7 to display original sentences and their translated sentences. The user designates one of them while seeing the examples. |
