The invention relates to a protective mask provided with a membrane (3) through which the user's speech is heard outside the mask and which is covered by a perforated shield (4) external to the membrane. The invention is characterized in that the membrane is formed by a thinner part (3) which is formed into the jacket (2) of the mask made of rubber or similar elastic material, and whose edges are supported on a rigid supporting member (6). The supporting member can be formed by an abutment ring (6), where the shield (4) covering the thinner part is secured using a snap-fastener. Alternatively, the shield (4) can serve as a supporting member so that the abutment ring can be omitted. The supporting ring can be fitted to the groove surrounding the thinner part and dimensioned so that it serves as a tightener which stresses the thinner part. Ring 6 and shield 4 may be made of rigid plastics or metal. <IMAGE> |
