PURPOSE:To correct an outline and to obtain the picture of high definition by altering the shape of a dot pattern converted from multilevel picture data so that it shows an intermediate tone in accordance with a compared result with picture elements in a prescribed range which are adjacent to the picture element that the dot pattern shows. CONSTITUTION:Picture data 21 is converted into density pattern in 32 gradations, which shows the intermediate tone, in a multilevel data selection circuit 31. Line memories 33-36 compress timewisely the pattern and multilevel data output 39 is inputted to an outline correction circuit 23. The line memory 40 of the circuit 23 records data 21 in a vertical direction by three lines, and inputs it to a pattern comparison circuit 41 at every delay of one line. The circuit 41 inputs the compared result with the picture elements in the prescribed range, which are adjacent to the respective picture elements on data 21. The circuit 42 corrects output 39 in accordance with the compared result of the circuit 41. Thus, print data 15 is corrected with its contour to be the picture of high definition and outputted. |
