This device is designed for shaving down a weld (1) which connects two pipes (2, 3) forming an angle. It includes: - a rotary shaft (5) introduced through an access orifice in one of the pipes in order to bring its end level with the weld (1) to be shaved down, - and an articulated arm (8) carried at one of its ends by a pin (9) secured to the lower end of the rotary shaft, and at its other end bearing a rotary grinding wheel (11), it being possible for this arm either to be orientated in the extension of the rotary shaft (5) or to make the rotary grinding wheel bear against the weld (1) to be shaved down. <IMAGE>
