The method consists in: - producing a template (jig) (2) for temporary fastening to the body to be drilled (1) absorbing X-rays, the template (2) having marks (R) which are opaque to the said X-rays; - scanning the assembly formed by the body (1) and the template (2) and displaying the said assembly on a screen (60) by parallel successive sections, - choosing the possible drilling zones in view of these sections and depending on forbidden areas, - having this choice processed by computer equipment (8) which calculates the drilling coordinates with respect to the marks (R) of the template (2) as a function of information contained in appropriate software (10), - joining a drill (3) to the template (2) such that its marks (R) occupy a precise position with respect to the drill (13), - drilling the template (2) as a function of the coordinates furnished by the computer equipment (8). The method is particularly applicable to the preparation of a drilling template for the positioning of dental implants. <IMAGE>
