PURPOSE:To hold privacy with a simple method by coding signals to an area stored with a privacy area storage part. CONSTITUTION:A document is scanned by a scanner 8 and stored in an image memory 4. The data stored in the image memory 4 are displayed on a display part 9. Based on a privacy command from an operation part 10, the area requiring privacy is stored by a private area storage part 1. A data coding part 2 reads the data stored in the image memory 4 corresponding to the stored area and codes the data by executing an edge processing or a fill processing. The edge processing or the fill processing changes the number of times or is executed in row and column directions. Thus, characters or graphic forms can not be decoded. A data decoding part 3 decodes signals in the area stored by the private area storage part 1 by executing a processing reverse to the processing of coding. |
