PURPOSE:To shape a reception pulse signal so that a pulse width of a reproduced pulse signal is equal to a pulse width of a transmission pulse signal independently of the quantity of the amplitude of the reception pulse signal received with distortion. CONSTITUTION:This processing unit is a waveform shaping processing unit which shapes a reception pulse signal B received whose leading and trailing edges have a slope resulting from a distorted transmission pulse signal A being a rectangular wave during the transmission into a reproduction pulse signal C with an equal pulse width as that of the transmission pulse signal A and is provided with a reference voltage generating means 8 outputting a reference voltage signal D being the inversion of the waveform the reception pulse signal B and a pulse reproduction means which overlaps the waveform of the reference voltage signal onto the waveform of the reception pulse signal B and outputs a reproduction pulse signal C rising when both the waveforms are crossed at a leading period of the reception pulse signal B and crossed at the trailing period of the reception pulse signal B.
