PURPOSE: To measure lasers to operate in printing processing under the same circumstances, so as to measure the performance of each laser of a laser printer with high precision and high reproducibility. CONSTITUTION: A measurement system consists of a step 10, wherein a laser is preheated initially a step 14 wherein the laser is set at a point slightly below but nearly equal to the threshold and the output power of the laser is read repeatedly, a step 24 wherein the average of the laser output power is recorded, a step 30 wherein these test cycles are repeated for many separate test values having respectively different and preselected current pulses within the operating range of the laser, a step 34 wherein linear interpolation of summation is performed with respect to short channels, a step 40 wherein the measurement described above is repeated for all the channels, and a step 44 wherein all measurements are terminated. |
