<p>PURPOSE:To secure action time even many times the life time of a rotary head by providing a contact variable means and varying the contact degree between the rotary head and a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:In the state of reproducing, a microprocessor 15 calculates the distance between a tape position reproduced at present and the tape position where recording or reproducing will be executed. Then, when the amount is large, a changeover switching is switched to a terminal B, piezoelectric elements 13 and 13' are driven by a piezoelectric element driver 14, the rotary heads 2 and 2' come into noncontact state with the magnetic tape 3 and the tape 3 is traveled at a high speed. In this method, by making the heads 2 and 2' in noncontact state with the tape 3 for the time to research the desired position on the tape 3, the action time of the full device is even many times the life time of the head while satisfying the condition of high speed access.</p> |
