Ammonia filter with acid absorbent fibrous material - for treating gas stream esp. prior to analysis

Appts., for removing ammonia from a gas stream, has a hollow body through which the gas flows, the hollow body having two or more openings which open in to the interior of one or more gastight vessels and which allow passage of an acid-resistant absorbent fibrous material. One end of the fibrous material is immersed in acid, pref. phosphoric acid, in the vessel(s), while the other end hangs freely above the acid. USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. operates permanently with low maintenance for ammonia removal from a gas stream, e.g. for ammonia reductant removal from combustion gases (e.g. engine or power station waste gases) prior to gas analysis.
