Gripper loom

The guide system for the strip or rod gripper, to insert a weft through the shed across a loom, has an additional guide surface for each gripper at least at one side of its longitudinal extension. Guide levers, at the lower shed, swing in-and-out to bring the guide surface into sliding contact with the gripper for a given time span. Pref. the guide levers are bonded to a lever shaft, in a keyed mounting, which is near and parallel to the reed shaft. The lever shaft is keyed to a rocker, with its free end connected to a driven coupling. The coupling engages a roller lever at the reed shaft which, in turn, is connected to an eccentric on the drive shaft.
