Fixing of steps to newel post of spiral staircase - by single screw passing through newel post and shaped base of spiral step.

The newel post is a hollow pipe section (13), around which shaped plates (14,14',14'')fit. A single screw (17) with securing nut (18) secures the plate to the pipe. The geometry of the shaped plates prevents lateral movement. The plates are attached to the spiral steps, at the end of which are upright bolts (22) which fit into corresponding pipework (24) of the adjacent step. USE/ADVANTAGE - Step secured to newel post of spiral staircase by only single fixing.
