The material properties of the core and cover are so adjusted to one another that independently of outer stresses a reversible spring condition is set up. The complete fillet arm (SA) comprises the cover and the core. The cover comprises two counter-wound layers (11, 12) of parallel running metal wires (11A...12A...) or strips and the core consists of a metal wire (10) with a dia. 0.2-0.6 mm. The metal wires (11A...12A...) have a dia. of 0.2-0.5 mm and are of new silver. Each layer (11, 12) consists of 3-6 metal wires. USE/ADVANTAGE - A fillet arm for edge of spectacles which takes account of anatomical changes and also copes with the effect of a sudden blow on the spectacles, such as from a ball in sporting activities.
