Flow control valve for injection moulding machine - has valve head with central flow to outer edge of valve and onto front chamber walls

Flow control valve has (i) device to feed plastic metal to the front chamber, comprising a central feed chamber; (ii) valve component between the feeding device and the front space; (iii) a central opening for plastic in the valve component located adjacent to the central feed chamber; (iv) two or more, pref. four, branch channels to direct melt from the central opening to the outer edge of the valve component, close to the wall of the front chamber. Specific details of the valve component include; (v) conical head cylindrical centre section and rear section; (vi) centre opening in the rear section; (vii) two or more branch channels leading to the valve outer edge which is concentric with and adjacent to the chamber wall; and (viii) two or more connecting channels on the surface of the conical head and adjacent to a circumferential groove around the central section of the valve component. USE/ADVANTAGE - On injection moulding machines to prevent direct entry of plastic melt into the space in front of the screw. Diverts polymer melt against sidewalls of front collecting chamber and effects both a cleaning action and also prevents or reduces dead spots near the walls of the front chamber.
