Deployment drive for adjustable length telescopic mast - uses threaded nuts carried by rotary drive spindle for relative axial adjustment of telescopic mast sections

The drive uses a threaded spindle carrying spindle nuts (8), associated with the telescopic mast sections (7), for axial adjustment of the latter upon spindle rotation. The interfitting mast sections (7) have cooperating guides (9) and limit stops for the relative axial adjustment. The cooperating guides (9) have differing guide lengths (FL,FL'), the spindle having a section (A') equal to the length difference and of reduced thread height to allow one spindle nut (8) with a corresponding internal thread to rotate independent of the other spindle nut (8). USE/ADVANTAGE - Stable, rigid mast structure for communications antenna, with precise vertical alignment.
