The system for parenteral, e.g. intra-venous, administration of a liq. to a patient comprises a pump delivering via a resilient tube. Downstream of the pump, this tube contains a valve which opens in the direction of the patient under pressure of a level such that the pressure in the tube upstream of the valve at least equals the ambient air pressure. The valve opening pressure may be adjustable at at least two different pressures so that coupling with the pump sets the higher opening pressure.
