A sealing strip has a hollow D-shaped cross-section (5) with an attached rhomboidal section consisting of an upper part (7) and a lower part (6). The rhomboidal section is partly filled with an adhesive which can be melted by heating. The heat to melt the adhesive is supplied by an electrical heating element (13) which is formed from fuse wire. The sealing strip is installed after the adhesive has been melted so that the rhomboidal section can be easily compressed to fit in the gap. When the adhesive has solidified the walls of the rhomboidal section are still capable of being elastically deformed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Sealing strip for sliding roof of a motor vehicle.
