REMOTE STATION FOR A VIEWDATA TELEPHONE DIRECTORY SYSTEM

A remote terminal for a viewdata telephone directory system enables a user to access a viewdata telephone directory system via the modem 30, under the control of the user operating the keypad K1. Telephone directory data received in the modem 30 is stored in the video RAM 6 for display. The user may then select a displayed telephone number by means of the keypad K1 which is then stored in the EEPROM 70. When the terminal disconnects from the viewdata host computer, the telephone number stored in the EEPROM 70 can be retrieved and the modem 30 controlled in accordance therewith to dial the stored telephone number.
