Device for binding a stem, such as a trunk or a branch, of a plant to a prop, comprising a bridge and a flexible cord which is attached to the bridge in the area of a first end thereof. Free ends of the flexible cord can be attached to the bridge in the area of a second end, which is opposite from the first end, in order to form loops between the attachment points in the area of the first end and the second end of the bridge. According to the invention, free ends of the flexible cord in turn form loops which can be placed around the bridge in the said area of the second end. The device according to the invention can be produced from corrosion-resistant materials at low cost and, in use, entails a reduced risk of damage to the stem or the prop as a result of chafing. <IMAGE>
