<p>A bile acid sulfate sulfatase gene originating in a bacterium belonging to the genus Pseudomonas testosteronii and coding for the amino acid sequence represented by Fig. 3 or a bile acid sulfate sulfatase gene represented by Fig. 4; a plasmid containing said gene integrated thereinto; a process for producing bile acid sulfate sulfatase; and bile acid sulfate sulfatase thus produced.</p>
