<p>1403339 Fuel injectors for I C engines V D ROOSA 12 Nov 1973 [29 Nov 1972] 52370/73 Heading F1B A fuel injector for an I.C. engine comprises a tubular body 10 having a valve chamber 14, a valve guide 24 mounting a pressure operable spring-biased valve 16 in the valve chamber, the valve guide 24 being generally cylindrical and having a stepped threaded outer surface 44, 46 which mates with a stepped threaded surface 50, 52 in body 10 remote from a valve seat (20), Fig. 1 (not shown), there being an annular recess 48 between the two threaded surfaces in which an initially flowable, settable sealant is disposed to be compressed during assembly to force it into clearances between the threads in both directions from the recess 48. A shoulder 54 on the valve guide 24 bottoms on a shoulder 56 to prevent sealant entering the valve chamber.</p> |
