1465551 Bearings SOC NOUVELLE DE ROULEMENTS 13 Feb 1974 [14 Feb 1973 16 May 1973] 6668/74 Heading F2A A rolling bearing mountable between two relatively rotatable members comprises two rows 4, 5 of rolling elements, the two rows being at different radial distances from the axis, and three annular track members 1, 2, 3 made of sheet metal pressings, a first one of which, adapted for securing to one rotatable member, provides one track for each of said two rows, and the other two of which, adapted for securing to the other rotatable member, each provide the other track for a respective one of said two rows, at least one of said track members providing a cylindrical surface coaxial with the bearing whereby it can be fitted to a corresponding cylindrical part of one of said rotatable members. The lines of reaction of the rolling elements are inclined to the bearing axis. The track members may be provided with slots 9, 11 for increased resilience. The said other two track members 1, 2 may be operatively interconnected by a forcefit, welding, or bolting, or they may be separate and urged towards each other to preload the bearing. One member may have a radial collar 3a which is provided with apertures 6 enabling it to be secured to a rotatable member. In a further embodiment (Fig. 11), the said first track member provides an inner track for both rows, and two cylindrical surfaces are present. The rolling elements may be balls, or rollers of cylindrical, taper, or barrel shape. |
