摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enhance thermal shock resistance without virtually changing electric resistance by providing a honeycomb structure with two electrodes for electrification use, and between the electrodes, by providing a slit that is parallel to the one side of the rib of the honeycomb structure, and also by providing an enlarged part in the intersection of the ribs. CONSTITUTION:A honeycomb structure having a large number of penetration holes is provided with electrodes, and between the electrodes, is provided with a slit 9 that is parallel to the one side of the rib 4 of the honeycomb structure, and also is provided with an enlarged part in the intersection of the ribs. The sectional shape of the enlarged part is formed so as to be projected in the central direction of the rib intersection, or in an inwardly curved shape; or the rib intersection part is formed in a nearly square shape or in a nearly rectangular shape by linearly adding thickness between respective ribs adjacent to the intersection. By regulating resistance by the slit 9, heat generation can be controlled, so that the local or entire temperature-up complying with various applications can be carried out. The thermal shock resistance of the honeycomb structure can be also enhanced without virtually changing electric resistance.</p>
