Method of producing new derivatives of 2-amino-4,6-dichloro-5-methylphenol with general formula 1, where R1 and R2 are hydrocarbon chains with 1-2 carbon atoms in the case of R1 and 5-10 carbon atoms in the case of R2, characterized in that 4-alkylphenoxycarboxylic acid with general formula 2, where R1 and R2 have the meanings given above, is converted using thionyl chloride to its chloride, which is then subjected to a condensation reaction with 2-amino-4,6-dichloro-5-methylphenol, where the condensation reaction takes place in a water-solvent medium, the solvents being hydrophobic aromatic hydrocarbons and/or halogenous derivatives, and after completion of condensation an organic layer is separated, from which, after the oleaginous solvents have been distilled off, the remainder is recrystallized from n-hexane or petrol with a boiling point of 60-100 degrees C.<IMAGE>
