PURPOSE:To accurately extract fibrous microorganisms in image data and to shorten treatment time. CONSTITUTION:In a method for detecting fibrous microorganisms wherein a liquid containing fibrous microorganisms is photographed to give original picture image data, from which part of the fibrous microorganisms is extracted to give primary fibrous microorganism extracted data, primary flock extracted data prepared by extracting flock part of the original picture image data are removed from the primary fibrous microorganism extracted data to measure the amount of fibrous microorganisms, the original picture image data are subjected to space filter in four directions so as to strengthen lines in each direction, data having the maximum difference in luminance between the central line and both ends in output of each space filter are selected and data having especially large difference in luminance are statistically selected from the selected whole data in the whole target images to extract fibrous microorganisms. |
