PURPOSE: To provide the subject microcapsules comprising particles made of an emulsifiable mixture of a wax material and a fragrance oil which are embedded in a water soluble polymer and having a specific diameter, capable of suitably imparting fragrance to clothes in a tumble drier and excellent in preservability. CONSTITUTION: The microcapsules each having about <100μm diameter and capable of preventing loss of fragrance during processing, application and storage are produced by the spray drying of an emulsion where particles made of an emulsifiable mixture of a wax material (e.g. paraffin wax or the like) having <100 deg.C melting point and a fragrance oil are embedded in a synthetic polymer, especially in water soluble polymer (e.g. PVA or the like). The microcapsules are mixed with a conditioning composition comprising a cationic quaternary ammonium ion, a ditallowdimethylammonium methyl sulfate or the like and perform conditioning in a tumble drier to impart durable fragrance and softening effect to clothes. |
