PURPOSE:To prevent that a vehicle becomes immovable immediately when a malfunction occurs in a shift selection switch or other parts. CONSTITUTION:When a malfunction occurs in a shift selection switch 52 or wire harness (W/H) 60, 62 connected to the shift selection switch 52, SBW-ECU 50 detects this malfunction and controls T/M 48 in the neutral position. At this time, if a vehicle is running on a dangerous road, such as a superhighway, T/M 48 is not controlled to the neutral position, and a map of an electronically controlled throttle computer 44 is changed to a map for an abnormal situation. If the vehicle stops in a crossing or a driver stops the vehicle without knowing that the vehicle is out of order, control to the neutral position is not performed. Within ten seconds after a starter is switched on, SBW-ECU 50 controls T/M 48 in D range for enabling the restarting. |
