PURPOSE:To perform printing through the automatic determination of application energy even when printing medium is changed by a method wherein the advanced setting of the relationship among printing density, the temperature of a printer head and application energy in a table or the like is made unnecessary. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of a thermal printer head 1 during printing action is detected with a temperature sensor and then sent to a controlling part 4. An image sensor 3 reads printing result printed on printing medium 5 with the thermal printer head 1 so as to send the read printing result to the controlling part 4. The controlling part 4 determines application energy to the thermal printer head 1 on the basis of the temperature detected with the temperature sensor 2 and the printing density of the printing result read with the image sensor 3. |
