PURPOSE: To automatically carry out the automatic extraction treatment of a series of samples relating to the fluid of a supercritical state with the least labor of an operator by providing the above apparatus with a pressure vessel means having an extraction cartridge assembly, orifice means for introducing the samples, first port means for admission of fluid and second port means for outflow of the fluid. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus has a pressure vessel 24 means having an extraction cartridge assembly 30, a washing fluid valve 52, an extraction fluid valve 54, an orifice means for introducing the samples, a first port means 42 for admission of the fluid and a second port means 44 and 46 for outflow of the fluid. Further, the apparatus has a fraction collector for extractants, an automatic sample changer and an automatic cartridge transfer mechanism. The extraction cartridge assembly 30 is removable and operates on a slight pressure difference between the inside and the outside. The outside of the extraction cartridge assembly 30 is mounted at the heated high pressure vessel and is then washed, by which the contamination on its exterior is removed.
