PURPOSE: To obtain an apparatus for end face welding of plastic parts possible to conduct welding without defects even by a manual operation by constructing the welding apparatus so that a heating device may be retained in its operating position between clamping devices by a stop element operationally connected to a carriage and the stop element may be disengaged from the heating device upon a return movement of the carriage and the heating device may automatically return to its initial position. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is equipped with 2 clamping devices 4 and 5 separated from each other for retaining plastic parts 1 and 2, a movable carriage 6 supporting at least one of the clamping device 5, a heating device 7 for non-contact heating of the ends of the platic parts and a stop element 18 for retaining the heating device in its operating position between the clamping devices. The stop element 18 is operationally connected with the carriage 6 so that the stop element 18 may be disengaged from the heating device 7 by a returning movement of the carriage 6 and the heating device 7 may automatically return to its initial position.
