<p>PURPOSE:To provide a new peptide having enzyme inhibitory activity such as prolylendopeptidase inhibitory activity, thus useful as an anti-amnesic agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula I [X is (protected) peptide residue, amino acid residue, H or amino acid-protecting group; Y is (protected) peptide residue or amino acid residue; E is halogen, lower alkoxy or H; A is carbonyl or mono or substituted methylene; n is 2-6], e.g. [2-hydroxy-2-(N-t- butyloxycarbonylpyrrolidin-2-yl)acetyl]-D-leucine-valine benzyl ester. The compound of the formula I can be synthesized, starting from a compound of formula II and through a compound of formula III.</p> |
