PURPOSE:To enhance developed color density and water resistance by adding a mixture of three kinds of salicylic acid derivatives respectively represented by specific general formulae or a metal salt of the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A developer for a pressure-sensitive recording material is obtained by adding a mixture of a salicylic acid derivative represented by formula I [wherein either one of R<1> and R<2> is a group represented by formula IV (wherein R<3> and R<4> are a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) and the other one of them is a hydrogen atom], a salicylic acid derivative represented by formula II [wherein R<5> and R<6> are a group represented by formula IV or either one of them is a group represented by formula V or VI (wherein R<3> and R<4> are a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) and the other one of them is a hydrogen atom] and/or a salicylic derivative represented by formula III (wherein either one of R<7> and R<8> is a group represented by formula IV and the other one of them is a group represented by formula V or VI) or a polyvalent metal salt of said mixture. By using this developer in a coating layer a developing sheet for a pressure-sensitive recording material excellent in both of developed color density and water resistance is obtained. |
