PURPOSE:To surely detect a quick deceleration condition of a vehicle in a very short time and in addition to attain also smallness in size and lightness in weight without being influenced by an unnecessary repeated load and low load. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle quick deceleration condition detecting device 10, arranged in a side impact beam 20 of a vehicle, has a pressure receiving box 26 filled with noncompressible fluid F. A correction device 30 for absorbing thermal expansion of the noncompressible fluid F and a pressure switch 42 are connected to the pressure receiving box. In the pressure switch 42, a change of pressure of the noncompressible fluid F, caused by a change of volume of the pressure receiving box, can be detected, to connect the pressure switch to an air bag device through an action circuit. Accordingly, when the vehicle reaches a quick deceleration condition to compress the pressure receiving box 26 deformed, a pressure of the noncompressible fluid F is rapidly increased and quickly detected to actuate the air bag device. |
