摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To accurately detect a position where temp. abnormality is generated by arranging two or more different parts of the same optical fiber in the longitudinal direction thereof along a fluid pipeline in an overlap state in the vicinity of the mutual boundary of the maintenance sections of the pipeline. CONSTITUTION:The electric signal from a measuring part 6 is subjected to operational processing in a host computer 9 to calculate the temp. distribution of an optical fiber 5 in the longitudinal direction thereof and the temp. peak position of the temp. distribution is further calculated. For example, when a temp. peak is generated in the section boundary area 4A of the section boundary 3A of the sections 2A, 2B of a pipeline 1 (the area where two different parts 51, 52 of the optical fiber 5 in the longitudinal direction thereof are arranged along the pipeline in an overlap state), temp. peaks P1, P2 are generated in the parts 51, 52. When the length of a surplus part 53 and the overlap length of the parts 51, 52 are preliminarily stored in the computer 9, the temp. peak position, that is, the trouble generating point in the area 4A is accurately calculated from the position data of the peaks P1, P2 and it can be accurately judged which section among the sections 2A, 2B the point belongs to.</p>
