PURPOSE:To give a driver exact traffic jam information by judging a section to be a traffic jam section when the state that the distance between adjacent running tracks is under a predetermined value continues over a predetermined distance. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU 15 starts, the cumulative value of distances between stored points are cleared. Next, a running azimuth by an azimuth sensor 11 varies by a predetermined amount or more; or, in case of no variation, when clocking by a timer circuit 24 elapses for a predetermined time to move the current position calculated by a running distance sensor 12, the current position is stored momentarily as the running track; then, if the distance from a running track just before is a predetermined or less, it is preserved as jamming information candidate data. When it does not match with these conditions, processing is returned to those before clear and repeated. Then, distances from running track just before are accumulated; if it is a predetermined distance or more and a predetermined distance or more off from a past jamming section, it is stored as jamming information. When it does not match with these conditions, processing returns to start. |
