A polyethylene cable 4 may be coated with Cu, C, SiC, or B powder by passing the cable through an elongated partially circular vessel 1 containing the powder and agitated by vibrator 11. The vessel may be heated by burners 10 or electrically by current passing through the walls. The excess powder adhering to the surface of the cable is carried via flexible connector 3 into a second vessel 2 agitated by a second vibrator 12. The powder 14 accumulating in the vessel is recycled to vessel 1 by overflow 15. |
