Fibre-optic cable having a core with optical fibres, covered with protective layers and an external coating, characterized in that on the protective coating (1) of the cable core (2) is an inner strength layer (3) made of glass or aromatic polyamide fabric with lengthwise fibres, and an outer strength layer (4) in the form of aromatic polyamide or glass fabric also with lengthwise fibres, while between these layers (3 and 4) is a distance layer (5), and the fibres of the strength layers (3 and 4) are moulded in stressed state.<IMAGE>
