PROCESS CONTAINING HALOGEN COMPOUND OR METHOD FOR TREATING FLUE GAS

PURPOSE: To minimize the exhaust of polyhalogenous hydrocarbon compounds from a plant producing a process gas or blue gas at high temperature by cooling the gas to nearly a specific temperature in a first reactor and rapidly cooling the gas to a lower temperature than specific temperature in a second reactor. CONSTITUTION: The high temperature gas is cooled in a first circulating fluidized bed reactor 12 so that the temperature becomes to >400 deg.C after cooling and then cooled in a second circulating fluidized bed reactor 14 where the gas temperature go down rapidly lower than temperature of 250-400 deg.C. Hot flue or process gases containing halogeneous compounds are cooled in two successively located circulating fluidized bed reactors. In the case, the hot flue or process gases of >700 deg.C are introduced as the fluid gas into the reactor 12, wherein the retention time of the gas is kept 1 to 10 seconds and the gas is brought into contact with a catalytic material (e.g. ZnO) which can decompose polyhalogenous compounds.
