PURPOSE:To prepare efficiently pure water by preventing microorganisms from growing in an ion exchange resin apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The title pure water manufacturing apparatus contg. an ion exchange resin apparatus 1 wherein a cation exchange resin 2, an anion exchange resin 3 and a metal carrying carrier 4 having sterilizing force are filled and a method for preparing a pure water which is passed through this apparatus. As microorganisms can be prevented thereby from growing in the ion exchange resin apparatus, pure water can be prepd. efficiently for a long time even in a non-regenerating type ion exchange resin apparatus and the load on an ultrafiltration membrane at the succeeding stage can be reduced.
