<p>The device has a main drive shaft (1) with a gear (2) driving planetary gears (4, 5), and, via these, a gear (6) attached to a support (7) to which the cutting tool is attached. The drive can act as a differential type drive or as a simple planetary gear train depending on whether a worm gear (9, 10) is engaged. This can be disengaged by a lever which can be locked in position. The head can be moved manually or automatically, and there are devices fitted to stop it at required level. A safety coupling decouples the drive when a pin contacts adjustable cams.</p> |
