PURPOSE:To safely and efficiently grind and collapse relatively small-sized empty containers such as used syringes or drug bottles. CONSTITUTION:A hopper 4 having a charging port 2 provided to the upper part thereof is provided in a box-shaped cover main body 1 and a vertical fixed plate 6 is provided to the lower part of the hopper 4 on one side thereof and the movable plate 8 opposed to the fixed plate 6 and reciprocally moved in a freely separable manner with respect to the fixed plate is provided to the lower part of the hopper 4 on the other side thereof. A bottom receiving plate 23 is attached to the discharge port 22 provided to the bottom surface 1b of the cover main body 1 in opposed relation to the outlet part 5 of the hopper 4 so as to follow the reciprocating motion of the movable plate 8 to open and close the discharge port 22 and the empty containers introduced into the hopper are ground and collapsed between the fixed plate 6 and the movable plate 8 while the movable plate 8 is reciprocally moved by an appropriate drive means to be allowed to fall from the discharge port 22. |
