PURPOSE:To form the title layer improved in lubricity, water repellency, light transmission, weathering resistance and antistatic properties by subjecting a fluoroorganic polymer compound and a base to low-temperature plasma treatment to introduce fluorinated groups into the surface region of the base. CONSTITUTION:A plasma reactor is charged with a base such as a fiber, a nonwoven fabric, a film or a plastic and a fluoroorganic polymer compound of the formula (wherein R1 to R3 are each H, a halogen or a lower alkyl; and (n) is a positive integer), thoroughly evacuated, and then charged with a plasma gas (e.g. O2) in an amount to give a partial pressure of 50Torr or below. A plasma discharge is generated at an output of 500W or below to form a thin fluorinated surface layer on the surface region of the base. |
