PURPOSE:To delicately vary the timbre of a musical sound and obtain diverse performance expression by setting a phase difference according to the strength of at least breathing operation or lip operation at a blowout mouthpiece part at the start of breathing-in operation. CONSTITUTION:A player specifies desired pitch by operating key switches of a pitch specification switch group 22. Then the player performs the breathing operation for blowing in the mouthpiece part 21 and then musical sounds having a pitch specified by the switch operation of the pitch specifying switch group 22 are generated by PCM sound source parts 6 and 7. The musical sound generated by the PCM sound source parts have a specific phase difference and the phase difference is set according to the quantity of variation of breath information per unit time at the start of the breathing-in operation. The phase difference between the two musical sound waveforms is properly set to delicately vary the timbre according to the strength of the breathing operation, thereby faithfully reproducing a performance on a natural wind instrument. |
