<p>PURPOSE: To attain switching between a peripheral equipment and a host device without necessitating the intervention of a user by detecting the data signal of one peripheral equipment, and separating the other peripheral equipments from the host device according to this signal. CONSTITUTION: When a second peripheral equipment is not connected to a port 12, or when it is connected but not operated, a switch 20 is closed, and a port 11 is connected to port 14. A first peripheral equipment connected to the port 11 is connected to a host device. At that time, a separating/limiting circuit 22 prevents a data signal from the first peripheral equipment from being detected by a peripheral equipment sensor 16, and prevents the port 11 from being separated by the switch 20. When a second peripheral equipment is connected with the port 12, or when the connected second peripheral equipment is turned into an active state, the peripheral equipment sensor 16 detects the data signal from the second peripheral equipment, and instructs a switch driver 18 to open the switch 20, and the port 11 is separated from the port 14.</p> |
