PURPOSE:To recover the substrate of an information recording medium which falls into disuse or cannot choose but to be thrown away on account of the generation of recording errors and reproducing errors without changing the shapes of the pregrooves or prepits on the substrate surface. CONSTITUTION:A film having a self-supporting property is peeled or protective layer is removed by a solvent from the information recording medium constituted by providing a dyestuff layer on the substrate and coating this dyestuff layer with the above-mentioned film or protective layer and thereafter, the dyestuff layer is dissolved by using an org. solvent and is thereby removed from the surface of the substrate, by which the substrate is recovered. |
