PURPOSE:To enable restarting surely by providing a discharge circuit in parallel with first and second capacitors in an oscillating circuit for a self-communicated externally controlled a half bridge inverter circuit, and discharging residual change of the first and second capacitors before outputting restarting signals from a control circuit. CONSTITUTION:Before outputting restarting signals from a control circuit 2, an ON signal is outputted to a switching element Q3 through a resistor 8, and a switching element Q4 is turned ON through the switching element Q3 and a resistor R7 in an ON state. Accordingly, an electric discharge lamp lighting device is formed of a closed circuit from the switching element Q4 in an ON state to a resistor R6 the second capacitor C2 the first capacitor C1 the switching element Q4, and electric charges of both capacitors C1 and C2 are forcedly discharged. Therefore, regeneration of such a phenomenon as restarting caused by residual electric charges of both capacitors C1 and C2 in the case of restarting fails can be prevented. |
