PURPOSE:To provide the subject device which executes various measurements and monitors of an optical transmission system utilizing a duplex communication and backward traveling light as an optical amplifier device which includes an optical isolator. CONSTITUTION:The optical amplifier device including an optical transmission line 3 for transmitting signal light P1, an optical amplifier 1 interposed in the optical transmission line 2 so as to amplify the signal light P1, and the optical isolator 2 interposed in the optical transmission line 3 so as to suppress the oscillation of the optical amplifier 1 caused by the reflected light of the signal light P1 is provided with optical elements 4 and 5, which demultiplex and multiplex the signal light P1 and its backward traveling light P2, on the optical transmission line 3. The signal light P1 and backward traveling light P2 can be independently demultiplexed and multiplexed, so various measurements and the monitoring of the optical transmission system which utilizes the two-way communication and further the backward traveling light P2 can be performed. |
